Opaque Color Contacts Are Popular With All Ages

Opaque color contacts work with naturally dark eyeshades to form a truer, richer color. These lenses are very comfortable to wear and come in a variety of colors. Amethyst, blue, brown, gray, green, honey, pure hazel, true sapphire, and turquoise are all available in a colored contact brand. These colors can be added to rigid gas permeable contacts as well as soft, disposable lenses. Also, lenses used for prosthetic purposes are made with an opaque quality.

In the 1980s, most soft contact lenses were lightly tinted so that they could be easily applied or taken off. Also, if they fell out, they could be found without much trouble.

The colored lenses during that period of time were often easily ripped, difficult to clean and hard to place into the eye. Now, soft contacts are much easier to use. That is one of the reasons that more cosmetic colored contact wearers are in the market today.

Contact lenses from a variety of manufacturers fall into this category. Some colour lens manufacturers include Acuvue 2 Colours Opaques, CooperVision's Expressions, Natural Touch, and CIBA Vision's Durasoft. Each of these brands offers opaque lenses that provide comfort, the most natural coloring, and vision correction if needed. Some colored contacts are for cosmetic purposes only. Check with your state's laws to see if a prescription is required to purchase cosmetic contact lenses.

For health reasons, never share or use someone else's contacts for any reason. Infections can occur causing a multitude of eye problems to get their start. Follow the directions on the package for disinfecting directions and information on when to dispose of the contacts, if they are disposable. By using them safely, colored contacts can be an eye opener for you and your fashion style.
