Inserting Soft Contact Lenses Is Not Difficult

Inserting soft contact lenses can be a frightening thing to some people, especially children and young teens. Many have weird phobias and are afraid that they will damage their eye by inserting the contacts. The answer to this problem is practice, practice, practice. If you want to wear contacts badly enough then you will learn how to correctly apply them to your eyes. Just overcome your fears and relax as we tell you an easy way to insert your contacts.

Putting in a lens is really an easy exercise. Usually, your eye care provider will have you insert and remove them several times in their office before they send you home to conquer the chore by yourself.

Start out by washing your hands with good quality soap and dry them with a lint-free towel. Insert the same lens each time to avoid getting the lenses mixed up. Rinse the lens with a multi-purpose solution before installing them. Put the lens on the tip of your finger, edges curved up like a bowl.

Now pull the lower eyelid down with the middle finger of the same hand as the lens is inserted. Place the lens on the white of the eye and look down to center the lens. There, that's how to insert them.

Removing contacts is a similar affair. Apply a couple of rewetting drops to loosen the lens from your eye. This is also useful in removing a stuck lens. Look up and pull the lower eyelid down. With your index finger, gently guide the lens down to the white part of your eye. Gently squeeze the lens to avoid tearing and remove.

Check for rewetting drops and other contact lense supplies online, even if you wear toric lenses. You can place orders 24 hours a day, 7 days a week over the Internet.
