Exercise For Vision Improvement

One can easily use an exercise for vision improvement without having to get up from your chair. When most folks talk about working out and doing daily exercises, people naturally assume they are targeting their arms, abs, or legs. However, there are other parts of the body that can benefit from regular exercise and one of the most beneficial is to perform regular eye calisthenics. There are multiple types of exercises that you can perform to improve your vision. These targeted eyesight improvement methods include palming, vision shifting, swinging, and sunning.

These different eye improvement exercises all use different approaches for the same intended result.

  • Palming is done by warming your hands and placing them over your closed eyes and then focusing on a stationary object when opened.

  • Vision shifting is performed by shifting your vision after viewing the same object, such as a computer screen, for an extended period of time.

  • Sunning is an eye workout where you face the sun, close your eyes, look directly at the sun (keep your eyes closed!), and then move your head side to side for several minutes.

  • Finally, swinging is positioning your body in one direction and then swinging around, all the while maintaining forward vision to watch objects seemingly move in the other direction from the swinging direction.

These are not an all-inclusive list of eye exercises for vision improvement, just the most commonly practiced. These vision exercises can be practiced by anyone. including those who wear eyeglasses and contact lenses. For anyone who wants to naturally begin to improve their vision, you should begin a regular regimen of some or all of these vision exercises.
