European Contact Lenses Prove Cheaper than American Ones

European contact lenses are all the rage, as they are cheaper to buy in Europe, for Europeans that is. Most American prescriptions are utterly useless in Europe, and any American who travels there will need to check their insurance policy to see if purchasing prescription lenses overseas is even covered. In most cases, they are not covered, and as such, makes for a poor investment for Americans visiting different countries overseas.

However, for Europeans, they flourish with contact purchases and are slowly ditching their glasses as lenses increase in popularity. Therefore, there is now a lucrative European market where you can purchase lenses while living overseas. Depending on your circumstances, living overseas means finding the best deal for you to use long-term. And that beats the previous option of purchasing a boatload of American contacts only to lug them over to England, France, or one of the other European countries.

For Americans who are moving back to the United States, purchasing non-prescription lenses from across the Atlantic might be a worthwhile investment, if you can find a brand you'll actively wear. However, chances are good that you'll have to pay customs before bringing them back to the US and paying customs can negate any savings you may have found. The investment may be well worth it though, if you compare and price shop what the same contact lenses would normally cost in America. But, it will take homework on your part to make that determination. Do the homework and you will find the best solution for your situation.
