Bifocal Contact Gas Lens Permeable Are A Solution For Many
Bifocal contact gas lens permeable have revolutionized the contact industry. For years, those that needed bifocal lens had to accept eyeglasses as the only way to correct their vision problems, but not any longer.
Now there are two types of bifocal gas permeable lenses on the market. One has the reading prescription around the outside of the lens in a ring. Another has the prescription at the bottom of the lens with a weight to insure it stays at the bottom for prime reading position.
Rigid gas permeable lenses (RGP) are unlike the hard contacts of old. They were made from a material known as PMMA. This substance was extremely difficult to use and wear on a daily basis. The RGP lenses now use silicone as one of their ingredients. This makes them much more flexible and easier to wear. Also, gases such as oxygen can pass through the lenses to give greater comfort and help relieve the eye of stress and less drying out.
RGP lenses have several advantages over soft contacts. First, they allow more oxygen to reach the eye than with softer contacts. They are also more durable, resistant to damage, and fewer deposits build up on their surfaces. Since RGPs need to be cleaned every day, they do not promote eye diseases and infections from unclean lenses. These perm lenses show the best features for eye health.
You can also purchase soft bifocal lenses called multifocal contacts. They come in a daily wear style that is discarded every night or some have a planned replacement time. Also multifocals come in RGPs as well.
